De Gea – 8: DAVE. SAVES. A good display from De Gea. There wasn’t anything he could do about the goal; overall, nothing to complain about.
Rafael – 7: First game back from injury for Rafael who looked good for the majority of the game. Made a few great charges towards Shakhtar’s box. The only criticism of Rafael is that he was perhaps a tad too eager.
Smalling – 7: A good performance from Chris Smalling, nothing special. A hell of a lot more solid than Ferdinand has looked recently.
Vidic – 9: Almost a perfect defensive display from Vidic. A reminded of why he’s one of the best defenders in the Premier League. He was unlucky for Shakhtar’s goal, however, we could have lost about 10-1 if it wasn’t for him.
Evra – 7: Evra-esque. Played well without standing out too much. Not much else to add.
Carrick – 6: Carrick seems to have lost his electric form from last season, a good performance nevertheless. Passed the ball around like Carrick does.
Fellaini – 5: Sloppy from Fellaini. Couldn’t seem to get the ball to a team mate. However, he assisted Welbeck for the goal, so I forgive the bushy haired rogue.
Cleverley – 7: A solid game from Cleverley, unsurprisingly. A few great passes. He did well to keep up with the fast pace of the game.
Valencia – 6: Meh. A typical Valencia performance. Valencia’s game is so negative recently, as if he lacks confidence. There has to be a time when the youngsters start to get a game over him and Young.
Welbeck – 8: HE ONLY WENT AND SCORED A GOAL. Good game from Welbz. (Zup Zup) (Say Nada) Welbeck is added goals to his game, which is all he needs to become a truly fantastic player.
RvP – 6: Robin van who? Van Persie seems to go missing a lot recently. Understandable, since he gets little service. However, Rooney is still managing to score regularly. He seems to be missing that little bit of magic from last season. Maybe the little boy inside of him is crying out for Sir Alex.
